The Office of the Public Administrator
The Public Administrator is an elected official who is assigned by the Circuit Court, Probate Division, people who are mentally disabled, elderly, and minors who cannot take care of themselves and have no family or have family who cannot take care of them. The Public Administrator assumes the duties for the court assigned people as guardian and/or conservator, or as personal representative for deceased estates. The Public Administrator provides for the care of the person by getting them placed in the proper care facility and seeing to it that they receive the proper medical, psychiatric and therapeutic care.
